Newsletter Information

The Lodestar is the Official Newsletter of the Southeastern Federation of Mineral Societies, Inc. that is used to distribute information to the member societies.  Lodestar is published monthly during the year and distributed via digital electronic media.  Lodestar is distributed free of charge to the electronic community.  Members of the member societies wishing to receive the electronic form should contact the editor via email or submit the subscription form below.

The Lodestar solicits articles of interest to rockhounds and mineral collectors. Electronic submissions should be sent in Microsoft Word or Open Office Writer format to the editor via email Articles by the 15th of the month .

Marine Fossils

These marine fossils were collected on a club field trip. The sharks' teeth are pretty obvious and are surprisingly sharp. The other fossils that look like tiny combs, for example the one at 6 o'clock, are ray teeth.
