Egyptian Tomb
This pendant was made using intarsia, a lapidary technique where rocks and minerals are cut, shaped, and pieced together. The center of this piece is a blazing type of chalcedony (quartz) called fire agate. The fire comes from alternating layers of quartz and iron oxide. Surrounding the flame from the center out are: malachite (green), dinosaur bone (red), and Arizona malachite (light green).
